A Sustainable Christmas

Have the Christmas Fairies paid a visit to Sheepdrove?

Yes, Christmas is around the corner and here at Sheepdrove the lights are sparkling but this year not only the Christmas tree but also the giant willow wreath is decorated with sparkling fairy lights.

We’re trying to stay off Father Christmas’s naughty list by being as eco-friendly as possible so we chose micro low voltage LED lights. The lights are on a naked metal (not plastic) wire, run on a USB portable charger and use only a tiny amount of energy.

We’ve also used solar powered LED twinkling lights for the rosemary topiary outside our main entrance.

The Christmas tree, as ever, grown locally by our neighbour the Lambourn Christmas Tree Farm, is decorated with Mexican punched tin doves and straw stars with an exquisite corn dolly angel hand made in Aberdeenshire from www.somethingcorny
