Accessibility at the Eco Conference Centre

There are car park spaces reserved for disabled adjacent to the centre. Virtually all the building is accessible to wheelchair users, the exception being the Rook’s Nest. A toilet for the disabled is located at reception. A spare wheelchair is available for emergencies. Outdoors the Physic Garden and its amphitheatre are wheelchair-friendly. Hearing Loops are installed in the main meeting rooms to help clients wearing a hearing aid. Written materials can be enlarged to large-print format by using our photocopier.

Accessibility and our web site

We endeavour to make our web site as accessible as possible to all our visitors. Among the measures we have taken to help achieve this are:

• Our text size is scalable. We have ensured that our text sizes can be scaled up and down to make copy more readable, as required. You can change the text size from the ‘view’ settings in your browser.
• The visual design of our site has been separated from our content, using style sheets. This means if you are using a browser such as Firefox, you can choose to turn off the styling (style sheets) and view the page content in a much more text based, linear format.
• Our navigation system is embedded in each page in simple list form, and we have provided landing pages for each of our sections, ensuring navigation is simple and easy to follow.
• We work to ensure that all pictures in the site carry an alternative text description, for visitors who use screen-reading software.
