The Organic Food Awards

Organic Food Awards Symbol

Once again, Sheepdrove Organic Farm has attracted the praise of judges in the Soil Association's famous Organic Food Awards. We received a Bronze award for our splendid organic lamb.

Previous awards

Sheepdrove won a 'SPECIAL AWARD FOR INNOVATION' in the 2004 'Producer of the Year' category. (Note: During 2005 there was no awards competition.)

We are very proud of this top award. The Organic Food Awards are a key indicator of the best organic producers and suppliers in the UK.

Organic Food Awards symbolJudges were impressed by Sheepdrove's mission to push forward our own high standards in organic farming and food, excellent processing and retail, our organic research and development programmes with Elm Farm Research Centre, and projects such as our eco-friendly Reedbed System.

The 2004 awards ceremony was held here at the farm. The day ended with a farm tour for guests, including the famous organic gardener Monty Don, who was obviously impressed with our compost operation!

Sheepdrove Organic Farm also won the accolade of ‘Best Mixed Farm 2003’. Judges responded to our merits as a whole, considering the quality and taste of our produce, the way we deal with customers, our innovative ideas, environmental sustainability, conservation work, and high standards in organic farming. Prior to that, Sheepdrove’s achievements were rewarded by top prizes including ‘Highly Commended’ for the Producer of the Year category as well as ‘Highly Commended’ for the Retailing category in 2002; and previously ‘Producer of the Year 2001’.
